Capital Market Solutions Limited (CMS), a leading provider of software and services to the finance sector, is expanding its presence in London with the appointment of John Brierly as General Manager, UK Operations.

This coincides with the relaunch of its NOVA Settlement solution into the UK market and the opening of a new London office.

Ralph Horne, CEO of CMS commented, "NOVA has achieved significant success in Asian markets over the last 12 months and we think the timing is now right to relaunch in UK. We see an increase in demand from institutional stockbrokers to reduce transaction processing costs and increase straight through processing. CMS is delighted to have someone with John's background, his knowledge of the local market and understanding of securities settlement processing, to lead our drive into this sector and fulfill these market requirements."

John Brierly joins CMS with more than 20 years experience in the Capital Markets, specialising in UK securities settlement. Prior to joining CMS, John worked at JP Morgan Cazenove Ltd where he was responsible for Data Management and Settlement Projects. John brings to CMS extensive knowledge and experience in the implementation of settlement technology and settlement processing in the UK.

Commenting on his appointment at CMS, John Brierly stated, "I look forward to working with CMS and the London stockbroking community during what I believe will be an exciting period of change and growth for the UK securities industry. I am confident that the modern architecture of NOVA, incorporating a fully integrated and proven CREST interface, will provide the platform for success in this market."
