Hong Kong neo bank Neat moves into beta testing

Neat provides a mobile current account targeting university students and young professionals.

First of its kind in Hong Kong, Neat makes bank branches redundant and offers a radically modernized experience in “connecting with your money”, Neat’s slogan. All a user needs is a smartphone.

After opening an account via the Neat App, users get a Neat prepaid MasterCard which enables them to make purchases anywhere in the world where MasterCard is accepted, in over 50 currencies. Users can also withdraw cash at any ATM around the world which accepts MasterCard.

Neat was built with the user in mind. Besides being fully digital and offering a modern app, the fintech startup distinguishes itself from traditional financial institutions by heavily focusing on the user experience and user needs.

“We started building Neat because lots of people aren’t getting the help they deserve when it comes to managing their finances. Especially young people get ignored by traditional financial institutions - because they are unprofitable customers. As a result, there are very few products that serve their needs. So we set out to make a change.” David Rosa, CEO

In addition to offering a great user experience, the Neat app automatically categorizes each expense and shows the user how much he or she has spent on different categories over the week, month and year.

Neat will start releasing invites to their app on Dec 7, 8 & 13 at their beta events. After invites will be released to users signed up on the waiting list at neat.hk
