SWIFT announces that its new eLearning platform, SWIFTSmart, is now live with more than 200 individual courses and videos, including customised training programmes for cyber security and financial crime compliance.

SWIFTSmart is an interactive, cloud-based educational service that provides a digital catalogue of courses available in short content modules with animations, exercises and quizzes to help all users understand and use SWIFT more effectively. The new service offers all swift.com account holders ease of access via single sign-on and is available from any secure internet connection, working across multiple portable devices and operating systems. It can also be configured to adapt to different user profiles, behaviours and requirements. Customised training programmes and specialised bootcamp sessions are also available for communities or institutions through SWIFT’s consulting services business.

Key benefits of SWIFTSmart include:

• Reduced operational risk, increased staff productivity and fewer support calls;
• Faster onboarding of new members and/or employees;
• Better tracking of training effectiveness and more comprehensive learning analytics;
• Better time-to-market and more appropriate training content;
• Lower and more predictable cost of training;
• Progressive learning experience and efficiency, and;
• Minimised disruption of day-to-day business due to 24/7 availability.

“The industry - and its accompanying workforce - is changing,” says Dana Brants, Head of Services Marketing, SWIFT. “Market participants want important information at their fingertips, and educational programmes are no different. Employees want to learn but at their own pace and at their convenience. Employers want their staff to learn but can’t always support week-long training sessions, which are mostly held outside the office. SWIFTSmart addresses these challenges by providing customers with the necessary flexibility and options to educate staff in key areas of the business. eLearning is not the future, it is what we do today.”

SWIFTSmart is available to all SWIFT members for an annual fee. Starting in January 2017, all SWIFT members will be required to adopt the eLearning platform as their primary training channel for SWIFT’s products and services. Additional tailored training programmes as well as focused bootcamps will remain available to the SWIFT community.
