Showcasing innovative FinTech solutions that leverage artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, gamification and more, the founders of seven startups from Hong Kong and around the world met hundreds of potential investors at yesterday’s DBS Accelerator Demo Day, the finale of the second DBS Accelerator programme in Hong Kong.

The seven startups in this year’s programme are Flowcast, FOMO Pay, Hampen Technology, Mindlayer.io, NetGuardians, Playbasis and XinGuo Technology. They were selected from more than 150 applicants from around the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Thailand and the US.

DBS Accelerator is a collaborative initiative between DBS Bank (Hong Kong) and Nest, the leading Hong Kong-based startup incubator and full-service ecosystem, and aims to create opportunities for innovators from across Asia and around the world to shape the future of finance.

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) CEO Sebastian Paredes, said, “The landscape for financial innovation is evolving very rapidly. As an active participant in the FinTech ecosystem, we are committed to positive change in the way customers experience banking, and are excited to see the success of DBS Accelerator spurring a FinTech transformation.”

Lawrence Morgan, CEO of Nest, said, “Accelerators play a critical role in the Asian startup ecosystem and in supporting innovation. Providing vast resources, mentor support and dedicated work and office space, DBS Accelerator was an immersive opportunity for seven high-potential FinTech companies from around the world to test their solutions and find validation in a commercial setting over a short time frame. We believe FinTech has the ability to go beyond mere disruption and make a tangible difference to the experiences customers have in using financial products and services.”
