FIA announced five finalists for the Meet the Innovators competition at the Futures and Options Expo in Chicago on Oct. 18-20.

The five companies were chosen from a pool of 18 fintech startup companies that will be featured at the Innovators Pavilion, a showcase for forward-thinking solutions for the futures, options and cleared swaps industry.

The five finalists were selected on the basis of three criteria: the degree of innovation, relevance to derivatives markets, and commercial viability. Each finalist will have five minutes to give a live presentation on their products and services to Expo attendees and a panel of judges as they compete to be named the most innovative fintech startup in the global derivatives markets. Following the competition, the judges will select one company as the FIA Innovator of the Year and award that firm a prize of cash and other resources valued at more than $20,000.

Rob Creamer, member of the FIA board and chairman of the FIA Principal Traders Group, chairs the Innovators Pavilion selection committee. He extended his congratulations to the finalists. “These five fintech startups are offering innovative products and solutions that have the potential to add real value to the cleared derivatives industry. We’re excited to feature their work at Expo.”
