Swiss-based Fintech, eWise will provide its patented Financial Data Aggregation API at Start Up Weekend FinTech Geneva enabling participants to create next-generation financial services apps.

The Geneva event starting on Friday will encourage budding entrepreneurs to launch a FinTech project in just one weekend.

David Hamilton CEO of eWise will be on the judging panel, which also features leading figures from Alphametry, HEIG-VD, Vecchio Avocats and Fintech Fusion. Anyone is welcome to pitch their business idea during a 54-hour marathon of business creation, coding, designing, and market validation.

“We want to give entrepreneurs the best possible start, and access to our Account Aggregation API will give participants the opportunity to change how people manage money and approach their finances,” said Mr Hamilton. “Fintech is redefining finance and Switzerland has an exciting start up culture, I’m delighted to be part of this event,” he added.

During the weekend eWise will open up its Application Programming Interface (API) to participating developers, enabling them to build financial applications with eWise’s Account Aggregation technology. This patented technology enables secure aggregation of financial data and is already used by leading banks, including HSBC and Westpac. Developers will be able to connect easily to major Swiss banks including UBS, PostFinance and Credit Suisse.

The weekend will culminate with presentations in front of the judging panel where participants will receive invaluable feedback on their Fintech ideas.

Winners will receive three months of business development mentoring from event sponsor HEIG-VD and the opportunity to showcase their Fintech idea at NipConf16.

Start Up Weekend FinTech Geneva begins on Friday October 7 and will run through the weekend at Fintech Fusion, Avenue de la Praille 50, Carouge.
