Mastercard customers who use Android Pay can travel for free around London using pay as you go and get a free hot drink at Caffè Nero for four Mondays in October.

Just touch in and out on London’s transport network[1] using a Mastercard on an Android device, and Mastercard will refund the fare - up to £30.50 per day. The offer is available on four Mondays in October - the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th.

Plus, Mastercard customers using Android Pay can get a free coffee or any hot drink from Caffè Nero stores nationwide. They just need to load their Mastercard into Android Pay and use in stores when you stop by for coffee or breakfast during your commute on any of the Mondays.

Customers can travel on bus, Tube, tram, DLR, Tfl Rail, London Overground, Emirates Air Line cable car, MBNA Thames Clippers River Bus Services and most National Rail services in London.

Mark Barnett, president of MasterCard UK & Ireland said: “Our ‘fare free’ days across London’s transport network have been a big hit with our cardholders, but we wanted to go one step further. By also offering a free coffee at Caffè Nero, we hope that the Monday morning commute becomes a little more enjoyable in more ways than one.”

Using Android Pay is easy, secure and private. Users can simply wake up their phone, place it near a contactless terminal and that’s it. There is no need to open an app: simply tap and pay.
