Clinc, the cutting-edge artificial intelligence startup that built the world’s first open-source platform for building A.I. and deep learning-based Intelligent Personal Assistants, today announced the launch of “Finie,” the financial genie.

Powered by the most advanced A.I. available, and developed by leading systems research professors at University of Michigan, Finie is a customizable intelligence platform for banks. When integrated into existing mobile banking applications, Finie acts as a voice-activated intelligent personal assistant that is able to answer financial questions unique to each individual user, offer personalized spending advice, and fulfill any banking task. Finie is available immediately for banks, financial institutions and personal finance managers. A video introduction to Finie may be viewed here.

Utilizing scientific discoveries in machine learning, breakthrough deep learning algorithms and natural language processing, Finie emulates human intelligence and is able to interpret not only semantics and intent, but the underlying meaning of user queries. Unlike industry competitors that are limited to a set of rule-based commands and canned answers, Clinc’s intelligent platform enables users to converse with their bank account in a natural and conversational way, using their own natural language with no special keywords or templated questions to learn. Significantly more sophisticated than Siri, Alexa or Cortana, Clinc’s Finie delivers answers in natural spoken language along with onscreen visuals like graphs and charts to provide users with trends and insights on their financial status.

“There is no other A.I. solution out there that is using the latest in natural language and this kind of deep learning technologies,” said Jason Mars, professor at University of Michigan and Clinc CEO. “Traditional A.I. systems rely on algorithms that carefully define how the service will work. We built Finie by co-designing and co-training multiple AI models and engines to learn on its own so that it will be able to answer increasingly complex questions.

Consumers can pose natural questions such as:

● “Ya know, I was in NYC last week and spent a bunch at restaurants, how much was that?”
● “Have I gotten paid yet?”
● “How is my account looking?”
● “Where did my money go?”
● “What are some most expensive transactions I made in the last 30 days?”
● “Any abnormal transactions in May?”
● “I went to Chicago last month. Did I spend any money there?”
● “How much did I spend eating out this month?”
● “When is my mortgage due?”
● “What are your latest car loan rates?”
● “Can I afford to spend $80 on new shoes?”

Consumers can request Finie to complete tasks/actions such as:
● “Please transfer $1,000 from checking to savings.”
● “I lost my card last weekend, how do I get a new one?”
● “I need more checks.”
