ING-DiBa is one of the main sponsors of a new fintech hub in Frankfurt, Germany.

The technology centre will be based in the ‘Pollux’ high-rise building, located close to ING-DiBa’s headquarters.

The initiative aims to set up a network of start-ups and tech companies in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region. This is intended to create a platform that will help make developing and presenting start-ups, particularly fintech innovations, easier.

Fintech scene

“With our commitment we are contributing to developing a fintech scene in the Frankfurt financial centre on the one hand, and on the other hand, we want to promote innovative business ideas from young companies,” said Željko Kaurin, board member of ING-DiBa. ING-DiBa is already working together with several fintechs, such as easyfolio.

ING-DiBa employees will also be located in the new fintech hub from November. The bank has rented 1,400 square metres of additional project space in the building, over two floors. These employees will work across departments on new digital processes and customer services for the bank.

With this sponsorship, ING-DiBa follows the lead set by ING’s banking operations in other countries. Currently, ING partners with 45 fintechs and houses two incubators for fintech start-ups: the Innovation Studio in the Netherlands and Fintech Village in Belgium.
