Misys Banking Systems is pleased to announce that CajaSur, the Cordoba-based Spanish building society, has selected the Misys ALM and Basel II solutions.

CajaSur will replace its current ALM application and implementation starts immediately. CajaSur is preparing to enhance its ALM functionality whilst also ensuring its banking systems are Basel II compliant in the near future.

Why Misys? The Misys ALM system was found to be the most robust, the most user friendly, and the simplest to implement. As well as addressing the bank's ALM needs, this new project will simultaneously prepare CajaSur for Basel II implementation as both ALM and Basel II applications share the same platform, data model and interfaces.

CajaSur says, "The major benefit of the Misys Almonde platform is that we can implement the basic structure quickly and then add functionality as and when we need it. It gives us the flexibility we need and allows us to scale our ALM and Basel II capabilities as we grow."

Marco Knaap, Director of Sales, Risk Management of Misys Banking Systems says, "Spain is a very important market for us, and we are pleased to be able to help CajaSur improve their ALM capabilities and at the same time prepare for Basel II compliance. Misys has had offices in Madrid and Lisbon for over a decade and this local strength together with our local partners means we can guarantee the quality of the service we deliver to CajaSur."
