Social payments startup Current connects to Slack

Source: Current

Today we’re launching Current, lovingly made in New York City. Current is a next-generation payment platform that enables people to transact where they interact, by connecting to the places they spend the most time online: social and messaging platforms.

We’re announcing our first integration with Slack so anyone can use the platform to pay their colleagues - for a work lunch, or a coffee, or a job well done. We’ll also be available on iOS and on the web - giving you a few different ways on day one to send money to friends, family and coworkers, simply, instantly and for free.

We're really proud of this first version of the product, but it's only the start. In the future, we will connect to many more platforms, so let us know where places you’d like to be able to send money.

We don't want to stop there, either. Much like how the first generation of payment companies enabled consumers to sell and get paid for items online, Current is building towards a future where people can manage their loans, trading, and robo advising to grow money (and budget efficiently) in one place.

Current isn’t a bank, but most of us want change to get the most out of our money and financial experience. Have fun with the Slack integration and help us connect the world financially.
