Global mPOS leader Miura Systems today launches POSzle – a modular tablet Point of Sale (POS) bundle that also supports integrated payments to offer small businesses an elegant, low cost, and powerful out-of-the-box POS solution ready for any dynamic retail and hospitality environments.

“Point of Sale desperately needs a reboot, according to our recent research report which surveyed shoppers and retailers”, said Peter De Souza, SVP Revenue & Proposition Development at Miura Systems. “Over 40% of store staff interviewed said that if there was one technology improvement they would make to their store, it would be a more up-to-date POS system. A similar number of shoppers Miura spoke to complained that card terminals are often worn and dirty.”

Against this backdrop, POSzle is the ideal choice for retailers that want the freedom to operate a fixed and mobile POS and payment solution. It features a range of connectivity options to make it future proof – all at a highly competitive price point compared to traditional integrated POS solutions.

At the heart of this beautiful, compact and clutter-free offering are the FUSE Smart Hub and Fuse Retail API, which integrate and power multiple peripherals, including a Miura printer, Miura PIN entry devices and third party cash drawers and scanners. A range of physical ports provide future support for optional 3rd party peripherals as well as multiple connectivity modes – including Bluetooth, WIFI or wired. The Fuse SDK for iOS and Android takes all the complexity out of integration for developers looking add POSzle functionality to their existing apps.

POSzle significantly reduces the cost and complexity of owning, connecting and managing the POS hardware ecosystem through a tablet.

These include Miura Revive: an innovative function enabling OS and FUSE APIs to be restored quickly and easily in the event of a device error. Intuitive diagnostic LEDs allow for remote issue diagnosis, while the modularity of Hub/Printer components allow for easy field replacement.
Modularity at the point of sale allows retailers to evolve the solution over time without compromising on ease-of-use, simplicity, processing power or design aesthetics.

Miura Systems research also found that UK retailers are each losing out on an estimated £110,000 in sales annually because shoppers are walking out due to a poor experience at the till. And 80% of staff said shoppers put pressure on them to hurry up when there is a queue.

“It’s therefore vital for merchants to offer a faster, more efficient payment experience at check out with the range of payment options that modern, tech-savvy shoppers are demanding”, added De Souza.

With POSzle, the tablet can be easily unlocked and used anywhere in store with compatible Miura payment devices. Payments can also be taken using Miura’s M010 or M007 payment devices, which support contact and contactless-based transactions using magnetic stripe, smartcard and PIN as well as mobile wallet solutions such as Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay.

It is built on the same logically secure platform that has been developed for all our payment solutions, offering additional security features simply not available with rival products. It’s a truly scalable and future-proof solution that is ready for any dynamic retail environment.
