Wausau Financial Systems (WFS) today announces WebDigitalDeposit, a web-based distributed capture solution designed for the remote corporate capture of checks and payments.

The new solution serves as an extension to WFS' proven DigitalDeposit.

WebDigitalDeposit enables corporate customers, processing a low to moderate volume of checks and payments at each location, to easily gain the advantages afforded by remote capture such as improved collection times, consolidation of banking relationships, and earlier fraud detection. WebDigitalDeposit provides for easy customer installation; simply plug in a scanner, download a driver from their financial institution's website, and login to begin processing deposits and payments.

As compared to other remote web deposit offerings, WFS has architected the solution to provide a number of additional efficiencies for both the corporate customer and the financial institution. The application will run with multi-feed scanners, giving the customer the flexibility to scan multiple items with front and rear imaging. Centralized courtesy and legal amount recognition reduces keying required by corporate customers to balance the transaction. The financial institution receiving transactions benefits as the software can identify and require resolution of exception items before the customer submits for processing. Certain exceptions such as duplicate items, non-MICR fraud suspects, and image quality suspects can be resolved by the corporate customer reducing the financial institution's number of adjustments and labor requirements relating to transactions.

Nancy Langer, President of Payment Solutions with WFS explains, "Leveraging the technologies and workflow of our proven DigitalDeposit solution was a key objective when designing our web based offering." Langer continues, "We anticipate that financial institutions will offer both applications to their customers. To drive overall efficiency, there is a common workflow for central setup and processing regardless of which product is utilized."
