Citi announced the opening of its third Smart Financial Centre in Mall of the Emirates as part of the bank’s commitment to invest in its high-tech Smart Banking Ecosystem in the UAE.

Last year, Citi UAE opened their very first Smart Kiosk in Ibn Battuta Mall, followed by the opening of the Dubai Mall Smart Centre. Citi will invest in Smart Financial Centers over the next year as it reinvents the client experience centred on today’s digital technology.

The Financial Centre in Mall of The Emirates was inaugurated at a ribbon cutting ceremony held by Anil Wadhwani, Head of Citi’s Consumer Bank in EMEA, Elissar Farah Antonios, Citi UAE Country Officer and Dinesh Sharma, Citi’s Consumer Banking Head, in the Middle East.

"We put customers at the centre of everything we do by offering them a truly remarkable experience," said Anil Wadhwani, Head of Citi's Consumer Bank in EMEA. "We are continuing to invest in technology to simplify their experience and give them smart, interactive banking solutions. This is a big step toward our goal of being the world's digital bank by making it more convenient for people to bank with us."

Located on the second floor of Mall of the Emirates between the VOX Cinema and Carrefour car park entrance, the Smart Financial Center covers 531 square feet and is equipped with a workbench, a private briefing room, two ATMs and a state-of-the art digital screen. The relocated premises, feature an iPad based straight-through application process for credit cards and personal loans and a smart queue management system with an SMS based token.

“The opening of the third Smart Financial Center illustrates Citi's expanded presence and capabilities in the UAE and demonstrates our passion for innovation and commitment to simplify our customers' lives, generate value for Citi, and help innovate the financial services industry said Dinesh Sharma, Citi’s Consumer Banking Head, in the Middle East. “We have been in the UAE for three decades and we continue to enable progress by offering the best-in-class interactive digital banking experience.”

The smart ecosystem offers an interactive digital experience, whether people are looking for new products, services, or solutions delivered either through interactive touchscreens or universal bankers present onsite. Existing Citibank customers can transact using the enhanced Citibank Online platform on terminals installed at the kiosk or wherever their smartphone has a live connection.

Using our digital channels, consumers can also apply for a banking account, credit card of choice or a loan within a much shorter period of time than conventional banking channels. A unique feature of the new Financial Centre is that it makes maximum use of the alternative self-service opportunities in addition to the services offered by the bank employees.
