ComfortDelGro is a Singapore-based multinational land transport company which operates 46,500 vehicles in seven countries and manages the largest taxi fleet in Singapore. As part of the cooperation, Wirecard handled the technical integration of the wallet solution into the ComfortDelGro Taxi Booking App and is responsible for payment processing. With this development, ComfortDelGro Taxis, which has a fleet of 17,000 taxis, has become the first taxi company in Singapore to accept MasterPass.

They just need to book our taxis using MasterPass, hop into our cab and get off at their destination without any fare transaction. Our drivers will also like it because there’s no fiddling of notes and coins and no dipping of cards – it really does save both customers and cabbies valuable time.”

This is how it works: passengers can easily benefit from convenient cardless payments as offered by MasterCard’s MasterPass. After registering their preferred payment cards on the MasterPass website, they just need to connect their wallet account with the ComfortDelGro Taxi Booking App. The application is the ideal solution for anyone who needs to book a taxi while out and about. Passengers who choose to pay by MasterPass will now no longer need to present their actual debit or credit card to the taxi driver.

The offer of MasterPass by MasterCard is a further expansion of the long-term cooperative arrangement between Wirecard and ComfortDelGro. The land transport company has been using Wirecard’s payment solutions since 2008.
