With over 45 branches in 24 locations on the island and 800 employees, BNI MADAGASCAR is a major player in the country’s economy. The representatives of the consortium that currently owns the bank (formerly Groupe Crédit Agricole) are looking to make BNI MADAGASCAR into an innovative bank that can take its rightful place as the largest bank in Madagascar.

One of BNI MADAGASCAR’s main challenges is to modernise its information systems to meet its aims of development and innovation in banking services. After a detailed selection process, the Malagasy bank decided to undertake this important project with Sopra Banking Software, a trusted partner of over 600 banks in 70 countries.

On 25 November in Antananarivo, Mr. François Hoffman, Managing Director of BNI MADAGASCAR, signed this agreement, marking the start of a strong partnership between the two companies: “We have chosen a market-leading solution and a software publisher with over 40 years’ experience to allow us to complete this important transformation”.

The initial phase of the project for migrating to Amplitude is currently under way in Antananarivo. Having integrated banking production features and multi-channel distribution into a digital environment and covered a wide range of services, Amplitude demonstrates why it is the gold standard in Core Banking-integrated solutions.

BNI MADAGASCAR will soon be the fourth bank in Madagascar to use Amplitude. Sopra Banking Software, currently the leader in Francophone Africa, is reaffirming its growth strategy on the continent.
