TFG Financial Systems, a leading provider of real-time risk and portfolio management software, is pleased to announce that Guard Capital, the Hong Kong-based macro-economic hedge fund founded by Leland Lim and Allan Bedwick, is now using its cloud-based, cross-asset technology solution.
Guard Capital is drawing on TFG’s trade capture and risk management capabilities to support its real-time approach to financial markets. Guard pursues macro-economic themes, making use of highly liquid instruments to maximize investor returns using emerging market currencies, interest rates and other markets.
Guard chose TFG because of its focus on multi-asset product support, including real time risk reporting and stress testing features, all of which it consistently models. Furthermore, TFG’s ability to support straight-through-processing (STP) and deliver a consistent aggregated risk picture helped to differentiate it from competitors.
Allan Bedwick, COO, at Guard Capital, commented: “TFG Financial Systems is a company with global scale and one we have chosen to work with thanks to its ability to meet all our position requirements, including currencies and total return swaps. The high degree of familiarity with our operational and technological requirements has facilitated a smooth transition onto TFG’s technology. We look forward to continuing our relationship with them.”
Martin Toyer, CTO at TFG Financial Systems, added: “We’re very excited to be working with a firm of Guard Capital’s stature. Our integrated approach to supporting every stage of the investment process was a key factor in helping us to meet Guard Capital’s operational and risk objectives. Our continued growth and continual improvement of our systems has meant that we are able to provide clients like Guard with best-of-breed solutions to help them compete at the highest level.”
TFG Systems’ recent improvements to its software have provided fund management clients with sought-after features, like support for user-defined valuation models and integration with Swap Execution Facilities.
TFG continues to engineer cutting edge technology for its client base of alternative investment managers worldwide. Real-time risk capabilities and expert knowledge of the markets have led to the recent development of solutions to pricing and risk issues, and has made TFG a favoured technology partner to both established and growing fund management firms.
