VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) today announced that it has received CB5.2 certification from Groupement des Cartes Bancaires for its Vx 510 countertop payment solution.
The Vx 510 is a member of Vx Solutions, VeriFone's next-generation payment terminal family providing a range of connectivity protocols, combined with high security, consistent user interface, and sleek designs.
The CB5.2 standard, managed by France's GIE Cartes Bancaires, provides the latest in the French smart card payment specifications. VeriFone's partnership with AtosEuronext, a leading international IT supplier, achieved compliance by developing a top quality application that resulted in a fast time to market.
Compliance to the CB5.2 standard is mandatory for POS suppliers operating in the French market. The Vx 510 countertop solution runs on VeriFone's Verix multi-application operating system that contributed significantly to the rapid certification process.
Commenting on today's announcement, Nigel Bidmead, EMEA Managing Director for VeriFone said, "This key achievement of CB5.2 compliance for the Vx 510 paves the way for VeriFone to work closely with customers, partners and suppliers to introduce our unique solutions to this important market. We will be strongly focused on gaining further momentum in France as we roll out our range of enhanced communication solutions to customers through the Vx Solutions platform."
Vx Solutions extend VeriFone's product lines targeted at the countertop merchant, wireless TablePAY and multi-lane consumer activated market and provide the best combination of operational throughput, payment acceptance and value-added options necessary to help generate revenue for merchants.
