Visa Europe today announced the appointment of Jean-Louis Constanza as a non-executive director. Mr Constanza will join the Visa Europe Board with immediate effect.

Mr Constanza has extensive experience in the telecommunications and technology sector, working across Europe from a base in France. In 1998 he set up Tele2, a new entrant to the telecoms market, before setting up the mobile telecoms business Ten in 2006. Following the sale of Ten to Orange in 2008, Mr Constanza remained with the company, where he created and led the disruptive innovation unit Orange Vallée. He has been a Board member of payments services and terminals provider Ingenico since 2014.

Gary Hoffman, Chairman of the Visa Europe Board, said: “Jean-Louis will bring a passion for innovation to the Visa Europe Board. His career in technology and telecommunications will be of great benefit at a time when payments increasingly become mobile as will his experience of working in both start-ups and large corporates.”

Jean-Louis Costanza added: “I’m very excited to be joining the Visa Europe Board. Technology and innovation are rapidly changing the ways that people pay and be paid. Visa Europe is at the heart of this evolving ecosystem and I look forward to bringing my perspective of working with emerging disruptive technologies and business models.”
