DataSynapse, the fastest-growing provider of grid computing solutions for the virtual enterprise, has deployed its flagship GridServer software across IXIS CIB’s fixed income and OTC derivatives operations.
The software optimises application performance and resource utilisation at the bank, guaranteeing higher service levels and application resiliency.
IXIS CIB has successfully deployed GridServer in its operations in Paris. By grid-enabling an internally-developed pricing platform and integrating with its trading, operations and risk management platform, the French corporate investment bank has increased application performance. By supporting multiple and continuous processes, DataSynapse is the only solution that can be deployed across the enterprise, capable of sustaining a variety of application and resource types.
"By integrating complex OTC systems within the grid environment, we are able to speed application response time and resiliency without having to spend more money on hardware," said Laurent Fernandez, head of front office IT at IXIS CIB. "This is a first step in our efforts to build a more flexible architecture across the enterprise and we are keen to work with DataSynapse for future projects to extend the grid."
Tim Carley, DataSynapse director for Southern Europe said, "As a major player in the fixed-income, IRD and customer derivatives market, we are very excited to add IXIS to an install base that now includes three of the top four French banks."
The announcement further strengthens DataSynapse's market-leading position in the European financial services industry. The growing client base now includes two of the top three UK banks, two of the top Swiss banks, three of the top four French banks, three of the top four German banks, and two of the top Italian banks.
Carley continues, "Our strong domain knowledge and expertise in the financial services industry allows us to rapidly identify the right application areas to leverage grid and go live with implementations within a matter of a few weeks. Our clients can then enjoy the benefits of a grid-enabled architecture utilising the power of their existing IT infrastructure for improved system optimisation and productivity gains. We are very pleased to see an increase in the adoption of grid technology."
