With this move, the global technology leader showcases its commitment to its growing Point-of-Sale business by expanding its relationship with Powa to accelerate tablet-based payment adoption in the rapidly growing Asian market. Ingram Micro Inc. established a North American deal with Powa Technologies in October 2014. The announcement was made at Cards & Payments Asia 2015, at which Powa Technologies is exhibiting (Booth B01).

“Market demand for a scalable, flexible tablet-based payment solution continues to grow across the globe, and with Ingram Micro’s reach, even more of its channel partners can now call on the company to meet this market need,” said Jeff Dumbrell, CEO, PowaPOS. “In addition, as PowaPOS continues to rapidly expand its relationships with POS software developers who integrate their software with us through our advanced SDK, Ingram can support this growing community.”

Last year, Ingram Micro announced its intentions to expand its POS offerings, as well as broaden its vertical market strategy to include retail and finance markets. A part of the Ingram Micro Specialty Solutions Division, the Data Capture/POS business unit empowers channel partners to tap into high-margin sales and service opportunities around select vertical markets by offering best-in-class products, solutions, business support resources, geographical reach, professional services and inventory management.

“The innovative PowaPOS platform is the ideal component to help us deliver a complete POS and payments solution to our channel partners in Southeast Asia, many of which are seeking a tablet-based solution to meet demand in the small and mid-sized business market,” said Francis Choo, vice president, Ingram Micro SEA. “With its unique integrated design and advanced features, PowaPOS is a key piece in ensuring our partners continue to have a competitive advantage with the businesses they serve.”

PowaPOS is the first point of sale platform purpose built for tablet-based payments. It is the only fully integrated design to incorporate all common retail peripherals and support all POS software across all operating systems: iOS, Android and Windows. Through a single cord, the PowaPOS T25 powers a built-in thermal printer, 2D scanner, universal tablet mount, orientation sensor, an optional PowaPOS Cash Drawer, and can support third-party payment devices, including NFC-enabled PINpads. With its advanced, single API SDK, PowaPOS easily integrates with all POS software applications, as well as PowaTag, Powa Technologies’ innovative mobile commerce enablement app.

Global response has been strong for PowaPOS’ unique combination of features, particularly among software developers, who are able to easily integrate their POS applications and provide a full solution option to merchants across a wide range of retail industry sectors
