TrustPay is partnering with the Online Payments Exchange (ONPEX) global acquiring network to grow its customer base.

TrustPay is an acquirer itself, based in Slovakia, and is a licensed payment institution providing secure card payments and instant bank transfers via its membership of Swift and of Visa and Mastercard. It’s accredited to the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (DSS), Level 1.

As part of the Payment Service Provider (PSP) agreement, ONPEX will provide payment gateway services to TrustPay merchants, spreading its geographical reach. In return, ONPEX customers will receive access to TrustPay’s specialist online payment solutions.

The deal has already generated a pipeline of merchants wishing to make use of the partnerships benefits with the first merchants due to go live imminently, say the partners.

Commenting on the deal, Christoph Tutsch, founder and CEO of ONPEX, said: “TrustPay is a very exciting partner for ONPEX being very strong in Eastern Europe and the Baltics. The combination of ONPEX technology and TrustPay’s online solutions will add great value and coverage to our acquiring network.”

For Richard Tési, head of business development at TrustPay, it is ONPEX’s innovative approach to payments that is attractive. “Its belief that technology and payment methods should not be limited to singular deals or geographic borders is revolutionary,” he said. “We are delighted to be part of driving the industry forward with a partner that truly believes in making change where it matters.”
