Caplin Systems, e-distribution specialist and the pioneer of single-dealer platform (SDP) technology, today announced Michael Wee as its new General Manager and Head of Asia Sales. This key appointment builds on the company's commitment to the region.

Michael Wee will be based in Caplin’s new Singapore office, which opened in October 2014, and will report to Adam Hawley, Global Head of Sales Operations. He brings over 35 years’ experience to the role, having previously worked at Thomson Reuters, FSS and IBM.

As General Manager, Wee will lead sales and business development for the Asia Pacific region, ensuring continuity of client support and building on Caplin’s successful track record in providing regional firms with a highly profitable direct electronic channel to market.

Wee commented, "I look forward to expanding Caplin’s footprint in Asia. There is a strong demand for online and mobile trading in the region and Caplin is in a great position to deliver that.”

”The continued investment in our Singapore office reflects our commitment to the Asia Pacific region”, said John Ashworth, CEO of Caplin Systems. “We are delighted to have someone with Michael’s experience and contacts to drive our business there. He’s worked for banks on trading desks and latterly as a manager of fintech businesses. This is a great combination and I wish him every success.”
