Kaupthing Bank, the largest bank in Iceland, has signed a deal with SMA Software and Consulting Ltd for additional SWIFT products and services.
Ingi ÖrnHi Geirsson, Managing Director of IT Department at Kaupthing Bank, says: "It was always our intention to improve our disaster recovery plans at the bank and to provide a better service to our customers. Following the successful implementation of SMA's SIDE Database and Reporting tools for our SWIFTAlliance system we knew we could rely on the team at SMA to help fulfill all our requirements."
The new contracts, signed at 2.30pm on Wednesday 7th September at SIBOS, will enable Kaupthing Bank to focus on improving customer service. Under the new contracts SMA will provide the bank with its SMART-DR product (Data Replication Resilience Tool) to improve off-site recovery times and its SystemCare service to manage the Bank's SWIFT environment.
