PayByPhone, a flagship product of leading international payment technology company, PayPoint, has announced its mobile parking payment app is available in the Amazon Appstore for Amazon's new Fire phone, as well as Kindle Fire devices.

The Fire phone's NFC capability works seamlessly with PayByPhone's parking meter stickers in Seattle and San Francisco, which feature a passive electronic chip that stores information such as the meter number. Users simply wave or tap their NFC-enabled phones over the sticker on the meter to automatically launch the PayByPhone app. The mobile payment system recognizes the user and identifies the exact parking location.

"PayPoint has innovated using Fire phone's unique capabilities to offer customers a new kind of experience for people on the go," said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Appstore. "We're thrilled that PayPoint has created an app for Fire phone. We think customers are going to love the experience."

The PayByPhone app is the simple, secure, and convenient way to pay for your parking in cities such as Seattle, San Francisco, Miami, Vancouver, London, Paris and more. PayByPhone allows drivers to charge their parking to a credit card, eliminating the need for cash at the parking meter. Features such as text message reminders before time expires, and adding more parking time from the app (within the allowable restrictions) greatly reduce the chance of a parking violation.

"Launching our app in the Amazon Appstore shows our commitment to consumers by being on market leading phone platforms," said Kush Parikh, President of PayPoint North America. "With so many people looking to apps to save them time and make their lives easier, paying for parking should be no different. Fire phone owners will love the rich functionality our app brings to parking payments."

PayPoint processes $23 billion each year while PayByPhone has 7.7 million users worldwide and processed more than $180 million in parking revenue in 2013 for major municipalities and private parking companies. The PayByPhone app is available globally in the Amazon Appstore.
