Miura Systems; the UK based manufacturer of secure electronic payment hardware to the leading Mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) payment providers, has announced today that it is launching the M010. The Chip & PIN card reader comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity allowing it to work with a smartphone, tablet and other Wi-Fi enabled devices.
Miura Systems's latest device is compatible with a range of peripherals including cash drawers, receipt printers, barcode readers, cradles and wrap-arounds, making it a viable option to replace traditional counter-top POS systems. The new device provides a further boost to the growing trend for tablet-based POS systems for retail clients.
Apart from a lower total cost of ownership and reduced set-up expenditure, the M010 also offers greater mobility than counter-top POS systems. The device can be unclipped from the counter-top and used with a mobile device or paired with a bespoke tablet wrap-around. This allows retailers to prevent lost sales by taking card payments wherever customers happen to be or use it to queue bust.
The M010 provides the highest industry standards of both security and performance. The device delivers unrivalled payment processing speeds through an ARM based processor alongside the powerful MSCLE operating system and like its predecessor it comes with contactless capabilities
Speaking about launch of the M010, Miura System's SVP Sales & Marketing, Mark Roberts said, "Consolidation of the fractured payment market is one of our key goals. We have a clear technology path with joined-up solutions and the new M010 evolves the retail experience so retailers can interact with customers wherever they go. It's at the point of sale in an innovative clutter-free cradle. It's mobile to serve customers in-store or queue-bust. And it takes payments outside of the store - even at pop-up locations".
75% of the world's leading mPOS providers use own-branded devices from Miura. The new M010 will sit alongside Miura System's two other Chip & PIN readers, including the ever-popular and mobile Shuttle, and the M007 for high throughput POS environments.
