SecureNet names Matt Odirakallumkal SVP, risk management

SecureNet announced today that former director of underwriting and risk management for Braintree, Matt Odirakallumkal, has been named as senior vice president of risk management.

"Matt brings more than a decade of industry experience to the SecureNet team and will play a critical role in leading our efforts to improve the merchant experience," said Brent Warrington, CEO at SecureNet. "His customer-focused philosophy to underwriting and risk management is in perfect alignment with SecureNet's approach, and we are proud to have him join the team."

In his new position as SVP of risk management, Matt will oversee the improvement of SecureNet's merchant experience, including automated underwriting and boarding, and the simplifying of SecureNet's online merchant application. He will also be responsible for increasing the speed at which new customers are onboarded. Matt will lead the underwriting and risk divisions at SecureNet.

Matt has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services and credit industries. In his previous role at Braintree, Matt led the development of the company's underwriting and risk management strategy which included streamlined merchant boarding, establishment of underwriting/risk policies and procedures as well as the implementation their risk management system.

Before Braintree, Matt was director of US credit for Moneris Solutions. He was responsible for the company's underwriting for all independent sales organizations, small-to-medium-sized businesses and enterprise companies in the United States.
