Cypress Software Systems, LP is entering the small business commercial loan application processing market with an application processing solution that leverages the power of Fair Isaac Corporation's LiquidCredit decision engine, providing access to SBSS, the market-leading small business risk scores.
Cypress' new product, BizMark, complements its flagship Mark IV consumer loan application processing solution. BizMark can be used to process small commercial loan requests for corporate leases, term loans, lines of credit and corporate credit cards. This includes Small Business Administration (SBA), agriculture and other commercial requests of up to $750,000.
According to data from the SBA, there were nearly 15 million small business loans under $250,000, totaling more than $224 billion in 2003, the most recent year for available data.

"The latest data available from 2003 indicates that there were about 23.7 million small businesses in the U.S., many of whom secured loans for start-up equity or working capital. The BizMark solution consists of a Cypress-delivered .Net/Microsoft SQL Server software platform that, when used in combination with Fair Isaac's LiquidCredit decision engine, allows the user to take a commercial credit application and retrieve credit bureau reports on the company's principals, as well as Experian and D&B business reports on the applying company.
The application entry and credit report results are analyzed automatically along with the lender's credit policies, with the goal of dramatically speeding the loan decision process. Other benefits include lowering the per-application cost of origination; improving the quality of underwriting; providing underwriting consistency; and eliminating the need to re-key data to create loan documents.
Users can manage commercial clients with BizMark's integrated CRM tools that group by relationship and allow for contact management and attachment and emailing of BizMark- and third-party-produced documents.
The Cypress BizMark solution has been developed in the cutting-edge .Net framework, which allows users to work in a familiar and easier-to-use Windows menu-driven environment, while enabling their IT departments to deliver BizMark using a Web browser.
