Xenomorph, the analytics and data management solutions provider to global financial institutions, announced today that it has integrated Xenomorph's TimeScape product with both the R language and the R environment for statistical computing and graphics.
Over the past decade, R has become the leading open-source platform for data analysis, with more than 5000 external libraries available to extend its functionality in areas such as time series analysis and simulation. The integration developed by Xenomorph enables users of R to access the validated, high-quality datasets managed within TimeScape, as well as to further extend the data analysis capabilities of R through leveraging the analytics being managed within the TimeScape platform.
"R continues to prove itself to be a fantastic environment for data analysis and our TimeScape for R connection empowers our clients with even more options for how to consume and add value to data," said Brian Sentance, CEO of Xenomorph. "We believe that providing more ways to analyze and visualize data really enhances the data management process, enabling business and quantitative users to become more involved in using, analyzing and interacting with the data that is being fed into downstream systems."
The addition of R connectivity further extends TimeScape's analytics management capabilities and is complementary to Xenomorph's recent integration with Aqumin's Alphavision visual landscapes. The platform's long-standing integration with Excel, its connectivity with Matlab and its SpreadSheet Inside technology for managing spreadsheet-like calculations aligns with Xenomorph's approach to making data transparently and consistently available to all that need it.
"In our view, making data available anywhere and anyway that users need to consume it is vital to improving data management and to maximizing efficiency across the front, middle and back office," said Naj Alavi, Managing Director of Xenomorph's New York office. "We are committed to providing the necessary interfaces to enable our clients to maximize the value of their data. The integration with R is a significant addition to our investment in TimeScape as we continue to evolve the platform."
