Socialware, a leading social business solution provider for regulated industries, today announced that it has collaborated with LinkedIn to extend their programming interfaces to accommodate the needs of the financial services industry.
Social media profiles are considered advertising for financial professionals and must be reviewed by compliance before being published or changed. Socialware has continued to advocate to LinkedIn on behalf of financial services customers, the most recent result being the addition of a programming interface that allows social media management providers to publish profiles directly to LinkedIn on behalf of the user.
"Nearly two years ago, we created the concept of a Profile Manager capability to allow regulated firms, like financial services, to pre-review changes to an employee's LinkedIn profile. This was in response to the needs of our customers, who are deploying our solutions on massive scale," said Bruce Milne, CMO and vice president of product for Socialware. "This latest development from LinkedIn in response to the needs of our customers is important for the industry, since it will allow Socialware to publish approved profile changes directly to LinkedIn without the advisor needing to manually publish the changes. This is one more step for us to simplify the use of social media for our clients who need to manage hundreds or thousands of profiles across their firms."
Socialware continues to innovate new features and capabilities with its platform. Socialware was the first to introduce profile management capabilities to the market, and was first to market with capabilities like Campaigns, Account Delegation and Multi-step Review, which are requirements for regulated industries like financial services.
"Like Socialware, LinkedIn continually works to improve and enhance the user experience, particularly for customers like financial services firms that have a specific set of requirements due to industry regulations," continues Milne. "This new API demonstrates that LinkedIn is dedicated to this industry and will continue to work with partners like Socialware to meet their needs and to help them use LinkedIn to develop relationships and grow their business."
