AnywhereCommerce, a global payments technology provider, announced it has joined the Microsoft Designed for Surface third party development program.

As a result of this relationship, Microsoft will offer AnywhereCommerce's suite of secure and flexible mobile point of sale (mPOS) solutions that are integrated into Microsoft's Surface solution for retailers.

"We are very proud to work with Microsoft in providing a comprehensive mobile payment solution that is seamlessly integrated with its Surface platform," said Mitchell Cobrin, founder and chief executive officer for AnywhereCommerce. "Microsoft has been a leader in offering full-featured customer relationship management and operations technology that allows retailers to boost productivity and efficiency. The integration of our mPOS solutions offerings into the Surface platform will help ensure that Microsoft customers can fully leverage the growing interest that both consumers and merchants are conveying for mobile commerce capabilities."

Through its involvement in the Designed for Surface program, AnywhereCommerce will offer a broad array of its mobile commerce technology to Microsoft, including its global suite of hardware, software and gateway solutions for secure online and mobile card-present credit, debit, Chip (PIN and signature), and NFC transactions, as well as its "aCommerce" platform to facilitate payment transactions. AnywhereCommerce technology's PCI- and EMVCo-certified solutions provide optimal security, reliability, convenience and return on investment for merchants, networks, issuers, processors and acquirers.

AnywhereCommerce has a history of successfully working with Microsoft to deliver mobile commerce capabilities. The two companies recently joined forces with AT&T to provide payment accepting solutions for all Delta Airlines flights in the US and across the globe.

"Microsoft is very pleased to welcome AnywhereCommerce to the Designed for Surface program, and to continue our relationship in providing best-of-breed mobile commerce solutions for our customers," said Cyril Belikoff, director, Microsoft Surface. "We routinely hear from retailers who express an interest in integrating these capabilities into their operations. Our combined efforts will result in a streamlined and compelling solution that will allow Surface customers to quickly capitalize on this demand."
