Iberclear to carry on managing Spanish section of EU registry

Iberclear, the Spanish Central Securities Depository and a BME subsidiary, has won a tender to continue performing its ongoing functions providing support to the National Administrator of the Spanish section of the European Union Registry in relation to the European Union trading scheme of greenhouse gas emission allowances and the Kyoto Protocol, for the period 2014-2017. The mandate incorporates an option to extend it until 2019.

The Spanish Office for Climate Change, associated with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, has notified Iberclear the renewal of the mandate to run the the Spanish section of the Union Registry, in connection with the tender advertised in the State's Official Bulletin or BOE of 25/09/13.

Having assessed the technical and eligibility aspects relevant for the performance of the ordinary tasks of support to the National Administrator in connection with the administration of the Spanish section of the EU's registry, the Spanish Office for Climate Change has again relied on Iberclear, which in November 2004 was first entrusted with the management of the Registry on the grounds of its corporate name and its proven technical capabilities necessary to carry out such functions.
