BPC Banking Technologies, the leading provider of Open System payment solutions for the global financial industry, announces today that Belgazprombank, in the Republic of Belarus has gone live with SmartVista. Founded in 1990, Belgazprombank is the 7th largest banks in the country.

To support the Bank's strategy and innovative culture, Belgazprombank made the decision to implement its own processing centre, thereby allowing the Bank to take full control of its payments business. With SmartVista as a kernel of the new processing system, the Bank is able to support international payment systems such as Visa, MasterCard and China UnionPay along with the local payment system - "Belkart". Additionally the Bank is now better positioned to meet new state regulations and initiatives. During the project BPC Banking Technologies used its expertise in connecting to national payment systems to rapidly integrate to the "Belkart" system, which has over 5 million cards in circulation.

The Bank also provides a wide range of card products, including Visa payWave, MasterCard PayPass products, Visa Money Transfer and MasterCard MoneySend technologies. With SmartVista the Bank has been able to significantly improve time to market with new products and services.

"We are certain that we can provide our customers with flexible access to a market leading range of innovative products and services. We also know that we can offer an improved customer experience. Today, with our processing centre based on SmartVista in live operation, our Bank enjoys enlarged clients service opportunities including the national "Belkart" acquiring, implementation and improving products and services for merchants and our customers," said Elena Antony, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Belgazprombank.

"We are delighted to partner with Belgazprombank. Our two organizations share many of the same values including a focus on innovation and a desire to deliver the best customer service. This project is yet another proof of the benefits that SmartVista brings and we know that our solution will help the Bank execute its growth strategy. We are delighted to add Belarus as yet another country where SmartVista is supporting innovative financial institutions and are looking forward to supporting Belgazprombank in its future plans," notes Daragh O'Byrne, Chief Marketing Officer, BPC Banking Technologies.
