A new online service was launched today, designed to educate the public in how to research and make stock market investments.
SHARESCOOL™ allows anyone to register for a share dealing 'account', obtain information on quoted companies and place 'trades' in the market. The best performers will climb the SHARESCOOL™ leaderboard and win prizes such as iPads and afternoon tea at The Ritz.
There are no charges involved and there is no risk of losing any money. Associations such as investment clubs, schools or companies can request their own individual groups to compete against each other.
SHARESCOOL™ was developed by Goodacre UK, the specialist consultancy providing services to regulated investment companies and service suppliers.
Stephen Pinner, GoodacreUK's MD said "The vast majority of the UK public do not understand how stock market investments work. There is a distinct lack of adequate or satisfactory education on investment and financial services in the UK. SHARESCOOL has been established to explain how major UK listed companies report on their business and to increase understanding of how investments are made. SHARESCOOL™ is informative educational and fun and we hope will be enjoyed by many from the young through to the silver surfers. You don't need any previous experience to take part."
