GoldenSource, a leading independent provider of Enterprise Data Management (EDM) solutions for the securities and investment industry, announced today that Mizuho International plc a subsidiary of one of the largest financial institutions in Japan, has licensed the GoldenSource 360 EDM platform to deliver full reference data and counterparty data management in support of the trading, risk and compliance functions of its investment banking business across its London operations.

"Mizuho is investing in a platform refresh to support its growing business," explained, Kevin Gage, Senior Managing Director, at Mizuho. "During the evaluation process, we found that there were very few platforms that offered us the depth required in both Security Master and Counterparty Master Management. We found that GoldenSource offers a robust, complete and flexible data model, flexible workflow and comprehensive validation and distribution capabilities, which allow us to manage, and importantly link our reference data on one platform."

With the current deluge of regulation, improving reference data quality and data governance processes has become a top priority for financial institutions. GoldenSource, the only EDM solutions provider with the ability to deliver all the reference data needs of a capital markets firm on a single integrated data consolidation platform, is a leading choice for sell-side institutions and universal banks and is also rapidly gaining traction amongst forward-thinking buy-side firms.

"This is part of an increasing trend we're seeing. The ability to manage security and counterparty data within a single repository allows for more efficient credit and counterparty risk management and collateral management processes, whilst satisfying ever more stringent compliance requirements," said Neill Vanlint, GoldenSource Managing Director for EMEA and APAC. "This is entirely logical for sell-side firms. Issuers are also counterparties and relationships need to be understood, tracked and audited in order to achieve a complete 360 degree view of a party. We are seeing most sell-side organisations looking to achieve this and we are fortunate to be unique in the market place in offering this capability."
