Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leader in innovative technology and front-end solutions, and PulseWallet, the innovative electronic transaction POS provider, have announced a relationship utilizing PalmSecure® biometric authentication technology.

PulseWallet terminals will provide maximum security and authentication of users to the retailer, while providing an all-in-one payment system for consumers to access their virtual wallets. Once registered, consumers can leave their credit or debits cards at home and simply scan their palm for payment at POS.

"From the very beginning, we were looking for an extremely secure and highly accurate form of strong biometric authentication technology to integrate with our solution. Customer registration has to work smoothly for all consumers and verification at POS must occur quickly"

PulseWallet is paperless, storing transactions, transaction history, membership cards, and promotional offers in a virtual customer profile. This makes transactions, as well as returns and exchanges fast and friendly, while empowering consumers to support the green initiative. In addition, businesses are always looking for ways to link their corporate brand to green initiatives. PulseWallet's ultra-secure, paperless, eco-conscious system streamlines the checkout process, while equipping retailers with a green marketing affiliation.

"From the very beginning, we were looking for an extremely secure and highly accurate form of strong biometric authentication technology to integrate with our solution. Customer registration has to work smoothly for all consumers and verification at POS must occur quickly," according to Aimann Rasheed, co-founder and CEO, PulseWallet. "We evaluated other forms of biometric authentication and we were most impressed with Fujitsu's PalmSecure technology because of its speed, accuracy and flexibility."

The Fujitsu PalmSecure biometric palm vein sensors use a near-infrared light to capture a user's palm vein pattern, generating a unique biometric template that is matched against the palm vein patterns of pre-registered users. Unlike other readers, the PalmSecure sensor does not come into contact with the skin, so it is hygienic, non-intrusive and unrestrictcted by external factors such as skin types and conditions. Registration at any PulseWallet terminal takes less than one minute and authentication takes less than one second.

"We are very proud to be partnering with PulseWallet and that they have chosen PalmSecure technology as a value-added benefit to their solution," said Randy Fox, senior director, currency handling and identification product solutions, Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. "We are also extremely supportive of their green initiative. Fujitsu has been an eco-friendly company for over 30-years, with a true commitment to developing and delivering solutions that limit impact on the environment." Fujitsu's family of biometric solutions, PalmSecure®, PalmSecure for SSO (single sign-on) and the PalmEntry™ Physical Access Control system all utilize the award-winning technology. The palm vein device can only recognize the pattern if the blood is actively flowing within the individual's veins, so forgery is virtually impossible. This advanced, vascular pattern recognition technology not only provides highly reliable authentication with low false accept and reject rates, but also allows for fast and easy enrollment.
