CR2 today announced the appointment of Kieran Nagle as Chairman. Kieran has over 35 years international experience in the IT sector and was a founder director of Kindle, a financial services software company.

Kieran began his career as a programmer with Irish Computer Bureau Services in 1967. His overseas experience commenced when he joined US multinational, Litton Industries in Sydney in 1972 before joining Honeywell in Melbourne with further systems, sales and management positions in Dublin, Montreal and Edmonton.

He returned to Dublin in 1980 and became a founder director of a new start-up called Kindle. In 1991, Kindle was sold to ACT, a large UK plc. In 1995, ACT was sold to Misys plc and ACT Banking Systems became Kindle Banking Systems with Kieran as Chairman and CEO. As a separate company within Misys, Kindle's expansion continued under Kieran's influence, both organically and acquisitively, and grew to be a successful international company.

Kieran stepped down as CEO after 20 years in 2000, and remained as part time Chairman until the end of 2001. During his time with Kindle, Bankmaster was used by more than 200 banks in 82 countries and over 1,000 locations. Kindle had grown from a start-up to employing over 500 people.

"Kieran's experience in Kindle will greatly help CR2 achieve its international growth objectives. Kieran was critical in the broad international growth of Kindle and we are extremely pleased to have his commitment to CR2 as Chairman," Martin Dolan, CEO, CR2 said.

"I am looking forward to working with the dedicated team of people in CR2," said Kieran Nagle. "We will work together to achieve CR2's objectives to expand its customer base globally whilst at the same time continue to focus on product development and deliver excellent customer service."
