Payleven, Europe's leading provider of mobile card payments, today announced the Europe-wide partnership with Ingram Micro, the world's leading wholesale distributor of IT products.
Payleven's Chip & PIN card reader will be now widely distributed by Ingram Micro in eight European markets: Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, the UK, Spain and Poland. The partnership with Ingram Micro is an important step for payleven and the entire mobile payment to make Chip & PIN technology freely available commercially and greatly facilitates access to mobile card payment. The Chip & PIN bluetooth card reader, the most secure solution for mobile card payments on the market, is a world first in the distribution portfolio of Ingram Micro.
"We firmly believe in the great potential of mobile card payment through the use of Chip & PIN technology. Even more, we are pleased to contribute to the Europe-wide distribution of this technology by making payleven's card reader available across Europe," says Ernesto Schmutter, Executive Director of International Business at Ingram Micro.
"The fact that Ingram Micro is incorporating our Chip & PIN technology into its product portfolio is an important step for the mobile card payment business," says Konstantin Wolff, founder and CEO of payleven. "Through this, the free availability of mPOS technology commercially will be significantly expanded, which will make it considerably easier for our customers to directly acquire Chip & PIN terminals at a dealer of their choice."
The Chip & PIN card reader from payleven connects via bluetooth to an app on a smartphone or tablet. This gives small and medium-sized businesses, from restaurant owners, to shop assistants, to taxi drivers the opportunity to accept debit or credit card payments on-the-go. Due to the dynamic and transparent design of the business model, payleven creates an affordable and flexible alternative to the often costly and elaborate offerings of traditional providers of card terminals. payleven does not demand fixed costs, nor minimum sales or contract terms. In addition to the initial purchase price for the Chip & PIN card reader, only 2.75% will be charged per successful transaction.
