Transaction Network Services (TNS) and Aquis Exchange, a new multi-lateral trading facility (MTF), are working together to provide rapid connectivity for customers requiring to trade within the European equities market.

Recently established Aquis Exchange was created to operate a pan-European equities trading exchange. Aquis Exchange is regulated as an MTF by the UK FCA and aims to alter the European trading landscape through its new and innovative approach, including subscription based pricing. The team at Aquis Exchange has utilised their years of industry experience and knowledge to build an advanced technology solution that enables participants to trade across 14 European markets.

Aquis Exchange's highly differentiated subscription pricing works on a similar model to that of the telecoms industry and is designed to encourage participation from all types of trading firms. To help Aquis Exchange meet its objectives, TNS is providing its highly regarded, latency sensitive, managed network service. TNS is a proven entity in the exchange, MTF, ECN and ATS marketplace and is excited for Aquis Exchange to be its latest addition in Europe.

Commenting on the agreement, Aquis Exchange CEO Alasdair Haynes said: "Successful trading is all about having a strong ecosystem and enabling as many entities as possible to connect and do business with each other. We are very pleased to be working with TNS not least because of their cost-effective infrastructure model but also for their excellent reputation for service delivery and operational management. Working with TNS, we hope to give users a high quality and broader range of connectivity options".

John Owens, TNS' Vice President of Exchanges and ECNs, said: "We are very excited to be bringing Aquis Exchange into our financial cloud. With the addition of Aquis Exchange, we can offer permitted participants secure, high availability and rapidly deployable connectivity services so that they may manage their pan-European trading cost efficiently through Aquis Exchange's unique subscription based pricing model."

TNS' secure trading network represents buy-side and sell-side institutions, market data and software vendors, exchanges and alternative trading venues, via more than 125 points of presence. TNS' financial services division enables end-users to connect in over 45 countries.
