European Payment Services secures PCI P2PE validation

After a successful Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) audit performed by SecurityMetrics, European Payment Services Ltd., (EPS) has become the first entity in the world to validate its point-to-point encryption solution as having met the rigorous controls defined in the PCI Security Standards Council P2PE Standard for the protection of payment card data.

The company can now offer its merchants a P2PE-validated solution for their credit card processing environments, enabling merchants to choose the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) P2PE-HW.

"Because data is encrypted at the point of interaction until it reaches the processor, P2PE is the most secure way to process to date," said Delia Pedersoli, International Sales Director of EPS. "Now, if one of our merchants is concerned about reducing risk or making compliance requirements easier, we can provide them with a simple, secure solution."

EPS's Total Care is a compelling service managed solution, which can enable merchants to meet the significant challenges of achieving and maintaining PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) compliance, whilst saving significant costs across the business. It genuinely allows merchants to accept any payment card in any country in any currency via any acquirer, and reduces the PCI DSS scope of their cardholder data environments.

The P2PE audit on EPS's Total Care was performed by SecurityMetrics, a P2PE Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and leader in compliance and data security.

"The biggest advantage of using a P2PE-validated solution is that the SAQ for merchants is significantly reduced, which means scope, risk and PCI requirements are also reduced," said Brandon Benson, a SecurityMetrics P2PE QSA. "If an entity wishes to provide a P2PE solution for merchants, it must partner with an experienced P2PE QSA to help meet the rigorous controls required to keep cardholder data secure in a merchant environment."
