Transaction Network Services (TNS) is providing direct connectivity to Nasdaq OMX NLX ("NLX"), a London-based interest rate derivatives market that allows TNS' global financial community access via TNS' secure trading network.

NLX is a new market where participants can trade a comprehensive suite of UK and European listed interest rate derivatives products. For the first time, financial market participants have the ability to trade the short and long term ends of the interest rate curve on a single market. TNS customers connected to the NLX market can benefit from simplified execution of a broad range of hedge, strategy and contingent trades as well as Central Order Book, off order book trades and the unique ability to portfolio margin both ends of the curve in a single clearing house.

In the short time since its launch, NLX is gaining popularity and momentum. NLX has obtained the support of a wide range of founding participants including banks, clearing, trading and brokerage firms.

John Owens, TNS' Vice President of Exchanges and ECNs, said: "The new NLX market brings a wealth of prospects to interest rate derivatives users as it simplifies the trading of derivatives products, historically conducted on two incumbent platforms, into one single market. We're continually building our trading venue partner portfolio to ensure our customers have the opportunity to enhance their efficiencies in this market. This will be available via our low latency, fully diverse, highly reliable network which is a crucial part of the service that TNS provides and one our customers' value considerably."

"Working with TNS allows us to extend our reach even further to new participants which is important to any new market", said Carl Slesser, Chief Technology Officer of NLX. "We're committed to supporting our clients and their customers with solutions to access current and future NLX products that create efficiency and opportunities in their trading and clearing activities."

TNS' secure trading network will enable NLX customers' access to TNS' 1,700 community endpoints, representing buy-side and sell-side institutions, market data and software vendors, exchanges and alternative trading venues.
