Reuters (Nasdaq:RTRSY; LSE:RTR), the global information company, today announced the launch of Reuters Messaging Compliance Manager, furthering its leadership in the collaboration space.
This new compliance solution supports customers' needs to meet strict compliance and corporate governance requirements imposed on the highly regulated financial services sector. Reuters Messaging Compliance Manager also enables customers to better protect the privacy of their business data by moderating use of Reuters Messaging (RM) within their organization. Organizations can now choose Reuters as their one-stop vendor to support market data, instant messaging, and compliance needs, and avoid the annoyances that working with multiple vendors can bring.
The need for sophisticated instant messaging compliance solutions within financial services is apparent as non-compliant businesses and individuals are charged stiff fines by the SEC, NASD, NYSE and other regulatory bodies. These infractions naturally lead to compromised customer, investor or shareholder confidence. As organizations adopt corporate-wide regulatory processes, an instant messaging compliance solution becomes imperative.
Reuters Messaging Compliance Manager offers organizations the following capabilities:
- Log and archive all RM conversations to comply with industry regulations
- Enforce group communications policies to prevent conflicts of interest
- Implement content filtering policies, and proactively monitor employee conversations via RM to protect the privacy of business data
- Add disclaimers to all RM conversations which remind employees follow corporate policies
Reuters Messaging Compliance Manager is based on FaceTime's unique TrueCompliance functionality. This functionality delivers strict regulatory compliance for IM and P2P networks. This announcement further complements Reuters existing relationship with FaceTime under the Reuters Messaging Compliance Partner Program.
David Gurle, EVP, Global Head of Collaboration Services at Reuters, said: "Many of the world's leading financial services firms rely on Reuters Messaging to conduct business. As such, it is critical that our offering supports our customers' needs to meet the most stringent regulatory and security requirements in a simple manner. We selected FaceTime for its innovation and leadership in the instant messaging compliance, management and security space, and robust functionality."
Kailash Ambwani, President and CEO of FaceTime Communications, said: "FaceTime is pleased to collaborate with Reuters to offer a robust solution for Reuters Messaging customers. FaceTime and Reuters recognize the need for solutions that truly comply with stringent regulatory mandates within the financial services sector. We are committed to delivering solutions that help customers address these compliance challenges."
In order to continue offering its customers flexibility, Reuters will maintain its existing compliance offering. This offering encompasses the RM Logger, and 3rd party compliance products certified via the Reuters Messaging Compliance Partner Program.
