HSBC names Bart Ras global head, business development, GTRF

Bart Ras has been appointed Global Head of Business Development for HSBC's Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF) business, effective 15 October 2013.

Bart will lead GTRF's business development team, providing Corporate and Global Banking clients with the advice and solutions they need to deliver business growth. Bart will also drive the delivery of customised and complex domestic and cross-border trade and receivables finance solutions to benefit HSBC's customers.

Commenting on the announcement, James Emmett, Global Head of GTRF, said: "I am delighted to welcome Bart to the GTRF team. He will be instrumental in enabling our Corporate and Global Banking clients to grow their business internationally. His experience of supply chain finance, gained in large scale, international organisations, as a financier and as a corporate client, will be a terrific asset for HSBC, and above all for our customers."

Bart will be based in London, reporting to James Emmett. He replaces Luiz Simione, who was recently appointed Global Head of Forfaiting and Risk Distribution, GTRF.

HSBC is the world's largest trade finance bank, with a 10% market share of bank-financed trade revenues. In the full year 2012, HSBC reported annual GTRF revenues of US$3.5bn.
