JPMorgan Chase & Co. today announced that it has entered into settlements with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency regarding the firm's Chief Investment Office trading incident and its aftermath.
Total penalties in the amount of approximately $920 million will be paid to resolve these investigations.
The settlements are a major step in the firm's ongoing efforts to put these issues behind it. The Company cooperated extensively with each of these inquiries, and continues to cooperate with ongoing inquiries, including the prosecutions of the two former CIO employees.
