RBS Lynk, part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, is the third-leading ATM processor in the U.S., according to the company's web site.
"Certification by RBS Lynk now makes the Xtremo available through all major ATM networks and transaction processors," said NexTran Chief Executive Officer Tony Park. "Certification by RBS Lynk means the Xtremo will now be available through the vast majority of the U.S.' ATM infrastructure."
The Xtremo is NexTran's latest product line, according to Park, designed in response to the changing ATM market. "It combines the small footprint of a simple 'cash dispenser' with the multiple functionality of a full-service ATM," he said.
The Xtremo features a large eight-inch full color screen, can hold up to 2000 banknotes, and is capable of performing such non-traditional transactions as cell-phone top-offs, sale of phone cards or postage, or wiring money through Western Union.
"The ATM industry is changing," said Park, "and the Xtremo is part of our strategy to use our technological advantage to define the market, rather than to just react to it."
The Xtremo joins other next-generation ATMs certified by RBS Lynk, including the ComNet 1000 and 4000.
