The VX820 is B+S's premium class, contactless enabled, countertop terminal with an efficient, compact design whilst the VX680 is its contactless enabled mobile terminal that is highly suitable for use in the hospitality sector.

The EMV approved VX820 incorporates a large 3.5" colour touch screen display, integrated contactless reader and PSTN, ISDN and DSL connectivity options. Merchants can accept both MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave contactless payments, as well as all major credit and debit cards. This includes China Union PayAmerican Express, Diners, and MasterCard and Visa debit cards.

The VX680 has similar features to the VX820 but is mobile with a built in GPRS communication. It has a lightweight design with a large 3.5" touch screen incorporating a high performance battery that can facilitate 350 transactions before recharging is required.

Director of Product Management & Marketing Robert Beer commented: "The VX820 and VX680 provide existing and potential customers with high-end technology, fast transaction speeds and the highest levels of security. B+S is committed to a customer orientated approach and adding these products to the portfolio in the UK will significantly enhance our customer offering. We are delighted that they are now available to UK merchants."

The new terminals operate on B+S's infrastructure providing merchants with fast, secure and reliable electronic payment acceptance. Additionally the terminals will make B+S's multi-currency technology - B+S Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) - available to UK merchants. B+S DCC enables the terminal to automatically identify the payment card's country of origin. The terminal then displays the sales amount in GBP, and subsequently shows it in the card holder's domestic currency including the currency conversion rate.

Mr Beer added: "We are excited that the launch of the VX820 and VX680 terminals will bring with it B+S DCC to UK merchants. As well as offering all standard payment terminal functionality, including contactless, the terminals incorporate B+S DCC as an excellent value added service."
