Consult Hyperion, the leading independent technology consultancy in the field of secure electronic transactions, has announced the appointment of Susie Lonie, well known for her pivotal role in the development and launch of the M-Pesa mobile money scheme, to its team.
Susie will be working alongside Paul Makin, Head of Mobile Money for Consult Hyperion, with her experience in the operational aspects of mobile money including such diverse areas as daily operations, development of business processes, requirements definition and the establishment and operation of agent networks. Her knowledge complements the technical expertise of the existing team that now encompasses further extensive understanding of the world's most successful mobile money scheme, M-PESA, as the Company launches its new Mobile Money Practice, a specialist unit focusing on the growth area of mobile money.
"Over many years of working with Consult Hyperion I have always been impressed by the depth of their knowledge, their innovative approach to problem solving, and the positive "can do" company culture, said Susie Lonie. Together I'm sure we can drive forward the development of the nascent Mobile Money industry to better serve the many millions of unbanked people across the globe."
The Guildford based consultancy, with an office in New York, is now able to offer clients unrivalled expertise in the technical, business and operational aspects of mobile money, covering all aspects of the lifecycle from inception, development and launch, to mid-life operational review. This Mobile Money expertise is underpinned by Consult Hyperion's extremely broad range of experience gained with banks, financial sector technology providers and mobile operators across Europe and North America.
Paul Makin commented: "This is very good news for us and for our clients. We have been working with Susie regularly over the last 18 months on an ad hoc basis, and it's great that she has now decided to join our team at the launch."
