Provident Credit Union, the 17th largest credit union in California with more than $1.8 billion in assets, converted to Hyland Software's OnBase enterprise content management (ECM) system to manage records, streamline business processes and provide exceptional member service.

The former IBM FileNet customer selected Hyland because if its innovative product roadmap and annual product release to support its future goals.

OnBase will help Provident Credit Union better manage member's records, from initial scanning of documents on the front end and throughout a member's history with the credit union, to deliver superior member service.

"User experience was declining with our prior system because the solution didn't have the advanced search capabilities users needed," said Vivian Wang, Provident Credit Union's project manager. "OnBase stands out as an ECM solution because of its superior search and workflow capabilities."

By capturing documents and data electronically, then storing information in a central, secure location Provident will reduce costs in storage and shipping and will unite its 18 branches. The credit union will also adopt an easier information flow, and the ability to retrieve members' records immediately, with the click of a button.

"OnBase records management enables complete life cycle management from document creation through final disposition, controlling the retention schedule according to the credit union's set retention policies," said Michelle Harbinak-Shapiro, Hyland's financial services industry marketing manager.
