Assuming automated teller machine (ATM) maintenance, updating and monitoring responsibilities for one of Belgium's largest financial institutions, Diebold, Incorporated (DBD) is now supporting Argenta's entire self-service network of more than 200 Opteva ATMs .

Diebold, a global leader in providing integrated self-service solutions, is now the ATM services provider for the Antwerp-based bank, delivering outsourced management solutions across the bank's multivendor network.

"We have a multivendor fleet, which meant we needed a solution that could universally support all of our existing ATM models as we phase in our new fleet. Diebold was the best supplier capable of answering our specific needs with the multivendor capacity of its Agilis software," said Anne Coppens, Argenta's director of marketing, communication and customer service.

Argenta's specifications included the renewal of embedded software on its ATMs, the transition of the bank's systems to support an Internet Protocol-based (IP) network and monitoring support for the entire network. One of the most important requirements was to ensure the OLTB (On Line To the Bank) protocol exchange between terminals and servers, which is specific to Belgium and allows real time updates of transactions.

"Our self-service solutions met Argenta's requirements by delivering flexibility, functionality and personalization, while also strengthening security, streamlining network management and boosting ATM availability" said Vincent Gheysen, senior account manager, Diebold Belgium.

In addition to availability management services, Diebold's Belgian management center will provide Argenta with outsourced network monitoring. This service includes maintaining up-to-date anti-virus software on Argenta's terminals using ATM Endpoint Protection by Symantec™ and confirming all programs have the latest security patches using Diebold's software deployment service.

Diebold completed the deployment of Agilis software to Argenta's 224 ATMs across Belgium in February 2013. The company is scheduled to install an additional 47 Opteva 562 through-the-wall, walk-up cash dispensers by the end of the year and continue upgrading Argenta's entire fleet over the next two years. Argenta plans to expand its number of ATMs to more than 300 terminals by 2015.
