Helixion, the NFC mobile payment specialists, has today announced that lok-MPL, its NFC-based mobile payment platform, now provides integrated support for the Blackberry 10 mobile operating system.

With Blackberry Z10 sales exceeding expectations and the range of handsets expanding with the new Q5 and Q10, this announcement means banks and mobile operators can select lok-MPL to deliver the NFC mobile payments services to more of their customers.

Blackberry 10 support is available now and is currently being trialled by some of Helixion's key partners.

"One of the key principals of lok-MPL is that it supports 'Any Phone'.

Through its highly portable architecture we are able to ensure that our lok-MPL platform supports new NFC-enabled mobile operating systems as they come onto the market as quickly as possible." said Steve Harkins, Technical Director at Helixion.

"Customers using lok-MPL can be confident that new mobile operating systems released in the future will be quickly supported."

Helixion has also announced that it is extending Blackberry 10 support to its suite of customisable Baseline Applications, which currently supports Android, Blackberry 7 and Apple iPhone
